Stone Bank School
Reaching Out ~ January 8, 2016
From the Principal
You may have noticed posters around the building promoting "The Stone Bank Way". The Stone Bank Way is part of a process called PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports). PBIS is really not a program, but a way of life at our school. The intent of PBIS is to teach and model expected behaviors at school in a proactive manner, all of these behaviors fall under our three expectations of: "Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Ready". Research has shown that schools who engage in PBIS have significantly less behavior referrals than those who do not.
After the break, our teachers shared a video with their classes to teach students about the appropriate voice levels for different situations at school. These levels range from a zero (complete silence) to a 4 (playground voice). Instead of asking students to be quiet, teachers now ask the students for a "zero" voice level. Ask your children to explain each level to you! Here's a link to the video that our students and staff viewed. https://www.facebook.com/stonebankschool/videos/793386544124036/?theater
Attention 8th Grade Families
This is a friendly reminder that the orientation session for freshmen students entering Arrowhead High School in fall of 2016 for students from Stone Bank School is on Tuesday, January 19th from 7:30pm-8:00pm. If you cannot make that date or time please attend earlier that evening or on Wednesday, January 20th between 6:30pm-8:00pm. I strongly suggest that all 8th graders and their parents attend. Please see the attached for further information. http://www.stonebank.k12.wi.us/uploads/2/6/1/7/26177684/arrowhead_incoming_freshman.pdf
Also, on January 13th at 9:30AM the school counselors from Arrowhead will be coming to Stone Bank School to meet with the 8th graders and pass out all information that they will need to register for high school classes in the weeks that follow. You are welcome to attend, but are not required to, this is more for the kids at this time.
As we go through this process of helping your child get registered for high school, please feel free to call me or email me with any questions.

I wanted to send a thank you to everyone who helped contribute items toward our trip!
The soaps turned out to be very special to the workers! The tooth brushes and shirts were luxury items! It's amazing how simple things to us, are such treasures to them. I felt very blessed that Stone Bank School came along side of us and loved the children and workers of Peru by donating so many items to help with crafts and hygiene.
We were at a Christian orphanage sponsored by the organization we took our trip with. (Vision Trust International) We also visited learning centers which are places that you can sponsor a child and they receive food, help with school and medicine. These kids are very poor and don't eat often. It was neat to see how we can sponsor a child, then have a opportunity to see how the money and the kids are doing first hand. They loved their gifts :)
I can't say enough thank's to all who supported and prayed for us! Thank you Stone Bank families! If you want more information about our trip, or want to know more about what we did feel free to call, email or I will go out for coffee! I love to share the work Jesus did through your help!
Thank you ,
