Chocolate Bunny Fundraiser!
We are taking an early leap into spring by starting our annual chocolate bunny fundraiser this coming Tuesday, February 5th! Your child will come home from After-School Band rehearsal that day with an order form and collection envelope. Please note that this is the only band program fundraiser in which 5th graders actively participate all year, so it is important that each student work hard to contribute. Students will sell chocolate bunnies for $6 each, and the money we raise supports projects such as purchasing new instruments for the school and new music for students to play in our concerts. Some important dates to put in your calendar:
- Tuesday, February 19th - Order forms and money due
- Tuesday, March 12th - Chocolate bunnies distributed
I need at least two parent volunteers to help with the distribution on 3/12 from 2:45-4:15. You would come to the high school and sort out the orders during our after-school rehearsal and then assist in making sure each student receives his/her order to take home that day. Please email me at pmeyer2@lisle202.org if you are available and interested!
Cabaret Night!
When: Saturday, February 16th
Doors open at 6:00pm, seating begins at 6:30pm, performances start at 7:00pm
Where: Lisle Senior High School gymnasium
Cost: $10 for adults, $5 for children
If you are interested in pre-ordering tickets, please contact Meg Sima at megsima23@gmail.com or look for the ticket order form in the Virtual Backpack!
As a bonus, 5th graders are invited to find or come up with a music-related joke/pun and send it to our MC for the evening, Mrs. Solange Pilizota! Their contributions will be shared with the audience over the microphone as we transition between bands throughout the evening! More information on that can be found by clicking here.
Staff Wars!
Lisle District Band Festival - March 19th
Please note that we will have After-School Band rehearsal that day from 3:15-4:15 - this will give the 5th graders a chance to get used to playing in the gym at LHS before the concert that evening.
