Distance Learning Updates for the Week of May 18
Principal's Message
Dear Wolfsville Community,
Typically during this time of year we make some of our best memories at Wolfsville. Our students enjoy field day, cultural arts assemblies, STEM day, Reading celebrations and more. Our students are missing these events. You are missing these events and memories. I am missing this this time now more than ever.
While we can't change our circumstances, our staff has decided to create committees which will work on ways we can bring these events to you and our students, virtually. It might not be how any of use imagined, but our goal is to continue the learning and memories even under these circumstances.
Stay tuned for more information and we wish you some family fun and memories ahead! We can still make this end of the school year a great one!
Together we will rise !
Yours in Education,
Megan Stein, Principal

Meet Mrs. Stuart! Wolfsville's Principal for the 2020-2021 School Year!
Greetings Parents and Families of Wolfsville Elementary School:
My name is Linda Stuart, and I’m extremely excited to join the staff of Wolfsville Elementary School as the new Principal effective July 1. I have heard such wonderful things about the Wolfsville community, and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to serve as principal this coming school year. I’m very passionate about education, and I look forward to partnering with you and our staff to provide your children with a positive, engaging, and high-quality elementary school experience. I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection, and I believe that by working together, we can make sure every child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.
Before being appointed to Wolfsville Elementary School, I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles in Frederick County Public Schools. Some of these roles include: classroom teacher, literacy specialist, central office teacher mentor, central office teacher specialist, school system coordinator for professional learning, and elementary assistant principal. My academic background includes a Master of Science degree in Reading Specialization, a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education, a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Communicative Disorders, and certification in Educational Leadership and Administration.
I will be working closely with our dedicated staff to guarantee that all of our students are intellectually challenged and have access to the social and emotional support they need. Great schools are the result of great teachers, so our primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction. In order to do this, we will be providing students with on-going feedback on their learning and will be connecting with families to ensure our students are achieving at their highest levels.
To our students, I cannot wait to meet you all! I hope that you are excited for this coming school year, and that you will be out this summer playing and reading tons of books with your family. It is going to be a fun year of learning together!
In closing, please know that I welcome your conversation and input throughout this coming year. Let us always keep our children as the primary focus of our collaboration. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes during the 2020-2021 school year.
Enjoy the upcoming days of summer!
Yours in education,
Linda A. Stuart

PTA Meeting & News
This year's last general PTA meeting will take place via ZOOM on Thursday, May 28 at 6pm. The ZOOM link will be sent in a separate email. At this meeting, we will begin the election process for the Executive Board positions - president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. We will also discuss open committee chair positions as well as other relevant PTA issues.
If you are interested in running for an Executive Board position, please send a short bio to holly1280@yahoo.com by Friday, May 22. After we compile the list of candidates, we will send out these bios as a virtual "meet the nominees" before the meeting on May 28.
Covid-19 Masks
Are you in need of a mask? Our own Ms. Miller has been sewing away and has offered her talents to our community. If you are interested in a mask contact Dori Miller at dorinda.miller@fcps.org.
We understand it may be difficult for young children to understand the recent directives to wear masks. The social story below explains it in kid-friendly language to help our students understand while easing anxiety.
