Principal's Post
I spoke with teachers last week about how things were going in their classrooms, and while most conversations were positive, one concern was reiterated several times... students sleeping in class. As a mom of two middle schoolers, I know bedtime can be a battle, so for your convenience I have included a sleep chart below as well as an article from a trusted site. Sometimes it helps if we can tell our children the "why" behind our rules instead of
"because I said so" (which I still use too often).
Don't forget this Thursday and Friday will be picture day for our students (see schedule below). We are encouraging students to "dress up" instead of having a dress down day. Please continue to adhere to the dress code guidelines located on our website.
Lastly, the end of Quarter 1 is quickly approaching, so continue to encourage your child to do their best whether Virtual, on Remote days, or face to face days. November 18th and 19th will be here before we know it!
Best Regards,
Heather Andrus

2020-2021 RRMS Yearbook
Due to half our school being virtual, and the rest being A/B, we request students and parents send photos to be considered for the yearbook. We would love to see students and/or doing work online or otherwise, in class, or even doing things on their "off time". We'd also like fun candid photos with or without masks. Photos should be school appropriate. Photos can be submitted here.
Yearbooks (hardcover, 76 pages) may be ordered before 11/19/20 for the low price of $35. Please visit the website to order your yearbook here.

Free Breakfast and lunch for ALL Students
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting hardships placed on families, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has granted us the ability to feed all students for free. The Emergency Seamless Summer Option program, or SSO, has been approved to allow all enrolled students to receive a free lunch and breakfast every day. This program has been extended through December 31, 2020, or until federal funds run out. Once the program ends we will continue our participation in the National School Lunch Program in which students pay based off of their meal status. We will begin serving free meals starting on Tuesday, September 8.
For families who have added funds their K12 Payment Center meal pay accounts, you have the option to request a refund or leave funds in the account so you're ready when the free meals program ends later this year. To request a refund, please contact our Food Services Department.
School menus, including nutritional information, are available on the district website and the Rock Hill Schools mobile app.
Students in the Virtual Academy are able to order meals for pickup at select locations. For more about online ordering, watch this video.
