Roofing Project
As you may know, this summer we have been getting a new roof for our building. The work is nearly complete, but the roofing crew will continue to be on-site at Port Susan the first two days of school, Sept. 1-2. We don’t anticipate that the remaining roof work will be disruptive to students and staff, but we will monitor it closely.
During the demolition work, water damage was found in the music room wall. Repairs will be made as quickly as possible, but the band room will not be available for classes until the work is completed. Band classes will be held temporarily in the choir room.
Thank you for your patience as this important work is completed. Please reach out to the school if you have any questions.
Return to Paid Meals
Federal funding for no-cost breakfast and lunches for all students during the COVID-19 pandemic has ended. Some districts have been able to qualify for no-cost meals to continue due to poverty rates in the community. SCSD does not qualify to participate under the new federal Community Eligibility Provision. This means the district will return paid breakfast and lunch meals for students for the 2022-23 school year.

Bus Route/Transportation Information
District transportation information is now available for grades K-12. Parents can access individual student transportation information online.
Versatrans eLink is the portal to access bus route, stop time, location, and the bus your child will be riding. The "User Name" and "Password" on the login page is your student's 7-digit identification number.

REMINDER: All students need to be at the bus stop 5 minutes before their stop time.
Kindergarten Parents: To ensure your child's safety, please arrive at the bus stop in the morning and after school 5 minutes before the scheduled pick-up and drop-off time. Parents or guardians must meet the bus in the afternoon, or your child will be returned to the school or transportation center.
For more information, please call the Transportation Center at 360-629-1229.
Parent Drop Off
Our doors will be open for students no later than 7:10 a.m. for all students. Students riding a bus typically are dropped off between 7:15 - 7:30 a.m. on regular school days and 8:35-8:50 a.m. on Wednesdays. Parents that transport their students typically drop them off at the same time.
After entering PSMS, stay to the left at the Y for parent drop off. There will be cones set up for students to be dropped off and walk safely into the building. Please pull forward to the curb labeled "1" below if you're the first car in line. This helps keep the traffic flow moving in the morning.

Fall Sports Sign Ups (7th & 8th grade)
7th and 8th graders can now sign up for fall sports (Girls Soccer or Boys/Girls Cross Country). The 2022-2023 PSMS Registration Form is found here.
6th grade students, in addition to wrestling in the winter, will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of clubs. These typically begin midway through the first quarter so they've had a chance to settle into the school year.
**All students participating in athletics need a current sports physical every 2 years.
The YMCA will also offer a variety of sports and activities. You can find out that information on their website linked here.
