EOY, What?!?
As I reflect on the year, I can't be anymore prouder of the work we have done! Take a minute to look above at our commitments and you too will say, "WOW!" We have been goal-focused and together, we have made a big shift in our learning and instruction. Well done! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Now, before you look below, take a deep breath..... I have "penciled-in" a lot of upcoming dates that could change as time progresses. Let's finish the year even stronger than we began. "Summer slide" is NO joke. Our students deserve to be rock-SOLID in their reading and math competency, so that they can begin next year, ready to go! During PLCs this week, discuss how to push our students until the very end. #whateverittakes #theydeserveourbest #hasletrocks
What's Ahead- *Tentative Events*
Screen Time
Our district has purchased a monitoring website called "GoGuardian" that monitors every click a student makes. You would be absolutely amazed to see the variety of activities & sites, along with the amount of valuable 'time' that our students are actually on devices. I'm quite certain that most of you would be pretty shocked yourself at the "variety" and the accumulated time. How can we raise the level of expectations so that our students are only using technology as "expected"- Lexia, Imagine Math, or truly "worthwhile" learning opportunities? What other activities could they do that would help them with social skills, problem solving, creativity, maximize their learning... ? Remember, many of them get PLENTY of "free time" on devices in the evening and on the weekend. I know this seems like a CRAZY topic or a mixed message, when we spend so much time talking about using technology to enhance learning and prepare kids for the future! How can collaborating with Shelly help ensure students are truly using technology to maximize learning and to collaborate with others? Please think about utilizing these learning resources as intended and how to find the right balance.
Parent Communication- please send out ASAP!!! thanks!
