Fens
Has water below the soil. Plants can grow here not man birds live here bc of the vegitation and shelter. Amphibians thrive here bc of the damp soil.
marshes
In a marsh they water is on top of the soil. Water is shallow all year long. Amphibians also thrive here.
bogs
Peat is formed is this type of wetland. Plants that grow here have to servive in a waterlogged invironment.

6 states have lost 85% of their wetland acreage. 22 states have lost 50% or more.
As of 2010 digital NWI maps are avaliable for 61% of the country. Much of the data is 20 years old.
Constanza (1997) estimated the global value of wetlands ecosystems at $14.9 trillon.

Did you know that wetlands help us? well if u said no im goin to tell you some ways they help us. Wetlands provide us food,. The soil can soak up the polutants to so our water can be clean. They can also prevent floods bc they slowdown runoff.
How they are being destroyed
Wetlands are being destroyed every year. Some of the ways they are being destoryed are, Road construction, and the attractions around the wetlands bring in people.
