NEWS FROM OUR NURSE
Dear Parent,
Just a reminder as the school year comes to an end, your child has medication in the school clinic. At the end of the year, an adult must pick up medication by May 23th. No medication is allowed to be transported by a child. Medication remaining in the clinic office past the last day of school must be discarded. This includes inhalers and Epipens. Please plan to make arrangements for your student’s medication to be picked up by last day of school.
In preparation for next school year, if your student has food allergies or other allergies, asthma, seizure or diabetes, additional health forms located at the following link to our school health services page can be found at http://www.sycamoreschools.org/Page/2309. If your child will have prescription or over the counter (OTC) medication at school next year, the doctor must sign a new medication administration form for each new school year. Please plan to do this early in the summer, so orders are on file for the first day of school. No medication may be given without a new medication administration form signed by the health care provider and parent each school year. Please email ferronj@sycamoreschools.org for further questions or concerns regarding your student’s health at school or medications.
If your student will be attending summer school and will need to have access to emergency medications, please contact Benjamin Schneider-
schneiderb@sycamoreschools.org
I hope you and your family enjoy a healthy and safe summer.
Sincerely,
Julie Ferron MS, RN, NCSN

From our Green Team
Thank you to everybody who brought their grocery and other plastic bags to Trex recycling bin in the school lobby. We have collected 4 bins of plastic and thus diverted it from ending in the landfill. Thank you to Mrs. Ferron and Mr. Bishop for bringing recycling of ziplock bags into the lunch room.
During the summer, all plastic grocery bags, bread bags, case overwraps, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, wood pellet bags, ziplock & other re-sealable bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, and cereal bags can be brought to Kroger, Target or Meijer stores. All materials must be clean, dry and free of food residue. In the fall, we will participate in a recycling challenge where the amount of collected plastics will be weighed regularly and picked up by Trex recycling company.
For those of you that you who want to go beyond plastic bags, Whole Foods Market store in Mason accepts washed plastic #5, or PP. Just bring it to their customer service desk.
Have a safe summer and Happy recycling!
