Langston's Letters
October 29 - November 2
Principal's Notes
Dear Langston Hughes Family,
During the month of October we have spent time renewing some of our traditions, and making sure we continue some of the great things we started just last year. As we've done in years past, we used this month to raise funds to contribute to research for a cure for breast cancer. So far we have raised approximately $763. We also celebrated autumn with our Annual Fall Ball.
Fab Friday and STEM Saturdays also began this month. Since this is the second year we have had both activities they are now considered traditions. Old traditions or new, the children are having a ball!
Have a wonderful week!

FAB FRIDAY
Sports, Cooking, and Math
Basketball and Yoga were a big hit last year. Yoga is back, and this year we added another basketball section. We also added a Cheer Squad. Cooking remains popular, and we are grateful to Ms. Howard and Ms. Marshall for the tasty treats they are teaching the students to prepare. Finally, Ms. Murray is hosting the Crazy 8s Math Club. I'm positive that this new club will receive many requests to join in the next cycle.
FALL BALL
Fun and Fleekness (Is that a word?)
The students really showed off their Langston Hughes style on Friday evening. They enjoyed music, snacks, and the company of each other. We always enjoy watching the smiles on their faces as they compliment and celebrate one another.
