Tionne Watkins
A famous Iowan singer
Why I chose her
I chose Tionne "T-boz" Watkins as my famous Iowan because I like the songs "Waterfalls" and "No scrubs" by her band the TLC. I also admire her for pursuing her dreams when it seemed impossible.
Why she is a famous Iowan
She is considered a famous Iowan because she received 5 Grammy awards for her work with the TLC. Another reason she is considered a famous Iowan is she starred in her reality TV show called "Totally T-boz". She also a spokesperson for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America.
Before TLC
She was born April 26, 1970 to James and Gayle Watkins. Her family moved to Atlanta when Watkins was 9 years old. She was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia as a child and was hospitalized several times for her illness. As a teen she was still learning to cope with her disease.
TLC Years
She produced 4 albums with the TLC and several singles.
Also, having sold over 75 million records worldwide, TLC is the best-selling American girl group of all time.

After TLC
She then made her daughter more of a priority, getting to spend more time with her. Watkins also released some singles without the rest of TLC after Lopes' death.
Lessons we can learn from T-boz
Never give up on your dreams no matter how insurmountable the mountain may seem it is always conquerable. Tionne knows this because she pursued her career as a singer even though she knew it would be difficult because of her illness. Another thing we can learn from her is to be original. Don't do what everyone else is doing just because they are doing it. She has experienced this because her group was original in how they dressed and how they sang.
IB traits
One IB trait that she shows is a risk taker because she didn't know how things would turn out when she joined TLC, she took that risk. Another IB trait she shows is a communicator. She shows us this by how she "Talks" to us through her(TLC's) music.
