Class Lists

Well it's that time of the year! We have started working on our class lists. Class lists are very important to us at Winfield Primary School. Our teachers work hard at keeping class lists focused on academic success for all. We truly focus on the needs of all of our students, friendships made, and new friendships to be developed. We do not mind parent input on class lists, but we do want you to know that we cannot always honor every person's first choice of teacher. So please remember, when you are thinking about making a suggestion for your child's next year's placement, please give us your top three picks. We want everyone to have input and work together for our students. We will once again send the next year's teacher picks home on the last day of school through our post card process. Once those post cards are out, class lists will not be changed. Please get your ideas and input to us by spring break:)

Cold Weather Preparation

Big image
With the cold weather upon us we wanted to take a moment to remind our families of the importance of proper winter attire for all of our young Warriors. Please make sure that your child comes to school dressed for the weather each day. We will continue to hold outdoor recess when possible. If you are in need of any assistance in getting a coat for any of our students please contact the office and we will assist you in making sure all of our Warriors are prepared for the cold weather ahead of us.

Our rule at Winfield Primary School is 32 degrees. If it is 32 degrees or higher, we are heading outside to enjoy the fresh air. Please let us know if you have any questions.

BUS SAFETY

We have had some bus safety concerns lately. Several of these concerns events occurring at bus stops. Please ensure that your students are standing 10 gigantic steps back from the bus stop. We have had reports of our students standing on the road in very dangerous intersections.

Also, if the bus stop sign is out in our loading and unloading zone, please do not pass through it. The Winfield Police Department have been issuing citations for these infractions. The goal is to keep our students safe as they are unloading the bus. Let us know if you have any questions.

Evaluate Data for 2nd Grade

This year we have added a district test that aligns with the Missouri State Performance Test. This assessment is given monthly and evaluates our student success over all the standards taught through the end of 2nd Grade. Below you will find our current evaluate data.

When the red bar is gone, our 2nd graders are projected to score proficient and or advanced on the state test. Proficient and advanced mean that our students are at or above grade level.
