EMIS Counseling News
Nichole Lentz
Hello Everyone!
This has been a busy start to the school year here at EMIS! During the first week of school, we talked with each Enhancement group about how we are a family at EMIS and worked on team building activities and had great fun! Also, during the third week of school, I met with all Enhancement groups and had a guidance lesson about respect. As a follow-up to the respect lesson, I have posted a padlet on Blackboard Learn encouraging our students to post the ways they are continuing to show respect at school, home, and in our community. Please go to my website to check that out. I am looking forward to an awesome school year with all my friends here at EMIS!
Toothpaste activity
As part of our Respect lesson, we had an activity involving toothpaste. This lesson was to demonstrate, just like toothpaste can not be put back into the tube once it is squuezed out, our words can not be taken back once they are spoken. So, we need to think before we speak and Use our words kindly!
Respect Rap
We also watched a great Respect rap video on youtube as part of our Respect guidance lesson. Please take a few minutes to watch it for yourself- https://sites.google.com/a/mgsd.k12.nc.us/ms-lentz/home
Assistance Forms
I have sent home several forms this year regarding different assistance programs we have here at EMIS. Food for Days, Change-a-Life mentoring program, and Rainbow Kidz grief group are a few of those programs offered to our students and families. If you need to complete a form for assistance or would like more information about a program, please visit my website- https://sites.google.com/a/mgsd.k12.nc.us/ms-lentz/home
