Waggoner Road Junior High Legends

APRIL EDITION 4/2/2020

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Given our circumstances, I know that we are all in this place of unknown and uncertainty but I am proud of what everyone is doing to support our students and each other. Waggoner Road Junior High students have been doing a great job staying in contact with their teachers, completing and turning in assignments. As we continue to navigate these next few weeks, things will be different, but if we continue to stay flexible we will make it through. As final decisions are made we will do our best to keep you updated and to get these updates to you as soon as possible.

CHROME BOOK PICK-UP/PACKET DROP OFF

As you have been informed by our leadership, we are in the process of compiling devices from our building to distribute to our students. We have created a process not only for device pick-up, but for those of you who have packets or paperwork to turn in as well.

MONDAY APRIL 6TH 10AM - 7PM

We will be conducting this process in waves, so please be cognizant of the times. We have very few individuals working so we want to make this as smooth as possible for you and those of us who are working.

IF YOUR STUDENT NEEDS A DEVICE, PLEASE COMPLETE THIS GOOGLE FORM:

Portable Technology Agreement

If you are unable to complete this form and would prefer to print it and bring it with you, you may do that as well. Feel free to use the link below to download and print a copy:

Portable Technology Agreement

Pick up for devices will be as follows:

7th grade: 10am -12pm

8th grade 1-3 PM

Last Option 5-7 PM

During these times you may drop off work that your student has completed. We will have colored boxes along the drive. As you drive by these boxes feel free to drop the work in the respective color teams box. After the work has set a couple days, teachers will work collaboratively to come and retrieve the work for reviewing. Please do not expect an immediate reflection of work received as we have to stagger the pick-up process to keep our teachers healthy.

Below is a link of the map of the pick-up and drop off process:

IF YOU PREFER A PAPER PACKET:

Due to the fact that we are providing devices we are asking that all contact with teachers be virtual, however we have compiled packets for those who prefer. The packets will be uniformed 7th and 8th grade packets that will focus on the districts curriculum guidelines. There will be 28 assignments per the following subjects:

MATH, SCIENCE, ENGLISH, SOCIAL STUDIES, ELECTIVE

The elective assignments will range from social emotional, art, music, health, PE, etc. collectively. Each elective teacher will give credit for assignments returned in this category should you choose to pick up the grade-level packet.

You may stop through to pick up packets at any of the given pick-up times.

Upon our return to school or should we not return, all devices will need to be returned the week of May 18th. We will send out information on the return process as that time approached.
