Parent and Community Weekly Newsletter

January 25-29, 2016

Dear Parents and Community Members,

We had a another great week at Dexter Park. We were able to get kids outside and let them run around, which is so nice to do in the cold winter months. The talk of the week was certainly Mrs. Murphy's disco bowling in P.E. Mrs. Murphy played music in the gym as kids entered the school every morning and it was so cool to see the gym dark and decorated with lights as the kids bowled and danced. We are extremely fortunate to have such passionate and dedicated staff members who go above and beyond for the students of Dexter Park.

We will start next week with our monthly all-school assemblies (see below). You are certainly welcome to attend and see how we build community and celebrate each other's successes.

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Just a friendly reminder that although it is cold, we try to get kids outside as much as possible. If the temperature is above 20 degrees, we will be sending them out to recess. Students should be prepared with coats, gloves, and other warm clothing.

Dexter Park in Action

An amazing program is coming to Dexter Park in March for girls in grades 3-5. Girls on the Run teaches girls self-esteem and confidence, and it ends with the running of a 5K together. More information is coming home soon so be on the lookout. In the meantime, click on the title above to view their website.
