Fox Family Focus
Week of March 6, 2022
Greetings Fox Families!
This is Anita Roane, your principal with this week’s announcements and reminders. I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend.
The Foxy Focus for March is Acceptance. The students hear the following statement on the announcements each morning and are encouraged to incorporate it into their daily habits.
Someone who demonstrates acceptance is welcoming to everyone, no matter how different they may be. This person makes others feel cared for and included.
Thank you to everyone who was able to participate in the Kids Heart Challenge. I am happy to say that we surpassed our $3,000 goal and raised $3,161.68. Congratulations to second-grader Will Hayes! He was our top fundraiser bringing in over $500.00. A special thank you to Mrs. Jenny Fisher, our PE teacher for spearheading this special program that provides our students the opportunity to be Heart Heroes!
Don’t forget to come out from 11-12 on Wednesday, March 9th and join Mrs. Funkhouser one of our school counselors and help clean out the raised beds and plant vegetables to share with others.
It’s just about time for our Family Zoom Night!- It is being held from 6-7 PM on Thursday, March 10th, with bingo, other games, and fun activities for all students grades PK-5. Of course, you know there will be prizes involved! If your child will need their device remember to return the RSVP to the teacher. The zoom link will be shared closer to the date of the event for security reasons.
In Chapter 2 of The Iron Giant, the farmers worked together to create a trap. If you wanted to catch the Iron Giant, what kind of trap would you make?
The Title I & Title III Family Movie Night is coming soon! Please join us for this free event on Monday, March 28th or Tuesday, March 29th to watch “The Iron Giant” with your family! The annual event includes pizza and activities and will be held at the Goochland Drive-In in Hadensville. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. each evening. We can’t wait to see you there! Reserve your movie ticket by visiting the link in this week’s Fox Family Focus newsletter.
