Teaching Teams for 2019-2020

Some of you have heard that a few of our teachers will be teaching different grades next year. I thought I'd share with you the following information:
  • Kindergarten team: Ms. Dowd, Mrs. McAuliffe and Ms. Curran
  • First grade team: Ms. Glynn, Ms. Roeder and new to Cozier, Ms. Scola
  • Second grade team: Ms. Emerson, Ms. Frownfelter and new to Cozier, Mrs. Wagner
  • Third grade team: Ms. Mueller, Ms. Savory & Ms. Trople (job share), and new to Cozier, Ms. Stark
  • Fourth grade team: Mr. Herndon-Schepper and Mrs. Holum
  • Fifth grade team: Ms. Conlon, Mr. Quinn, and a job share with Ms. O'Neill & Ms. Merz

This year we will be piloting a co-teaching model in second and third grade. Our goal is to provide the most support possible to students in the general education setting. To do this, we will have one full-time teacher and a second teacher for major instructional blocks in each classroom. This model will allow us to differentiate instruction to best meet the needs of our learners. More information to come this fall. Please let me know if you have any questions or wonders. Thanks!

Class Placement Feedback

In the next few weeks, your child's educational team will be working on class placement for the 2019-2020 school year. This process is complex and factors in many variables. Our goal is to place your child in a classroom that she/he can grow and develop. We also aim to build classes that are balanced with strengths, personalities, areas for growth, gender and need. All of our teachers our outstanding at meeting the needs of all children in a classroom and we also recognize that families sometimes like to share insights with our team. While we do not typically ask for feedback from families on specific teacher requests, I do welcome feedback regarding the learning environment that you feel your child would thrive best. Please feel free to email me at: Arionda.Feeney@bellinghamschools.org to share any information that you think might be helpful for our team to know as we build successful classes for next year. Thank you.
