We’re Having a Pumpkin Contest!
Cadott Elementary is hosting the family pumpkin contest again this year! Participation from all family members is encouraged. Each student from your family may enter a pumpkin. Please have your pumpkins to the area by the gym on Wednesday, October 30th at 8:15.
Your pumpkin will need to be set in a designated area. Feel free to drop your pumpkin off on Tuesday, October 29th during the Monster Mash. The monster mash is at the High School, but the doors by the elementary gym will be open to drop off pumpkins. There will be an area for the funniest pumpkins, the scariest pumpkins and the most original pumpkins. This year there is a new category that has you create a pumpkin that matches your favorite book. The form below needs to sit very close to your pumpkin. Please make arrangements to pick up your pumpkin before 3:30 on Wednesday, October 30th. Have fun!

Please judge my pumpkin in the following category:

Please write your name and your teacher’s name on the back of this form.
Note from Mrs. Grossinger
Hello Hornet Families!
I am excited to present a great opportunity for us as a school to honor our veterans! The elementary school will be singing a song for the Veteran’s Day program on Friday, November 9th at 10:00 in the high school gym. We have been working very hard and are thankful that we can present a gift of music as a small way to say thank you to those who have served. I would like to add a personal part to our performance by having each student hold a picture or name card of one or more veterans in their life.
We would like each student to send a picture (it can be a photocopy of a picture too) or the name of a veteran that is a family member or family friend to school with your child to deliver to Mrs. Grossinger in the music room. We will make cards in class with the veterans’ names or pictures on them. If you would like to email the picture or name to me - please include your child’s name and classroom teacher so I know which child to connect it to. My email is: grossingerm@cadott.k12.wi.us. You may send in more than one name or picture.
If you are unable to send a name or picture in, we will give your child the name of one of our Cadott staff veterans to place on their card.
We hope this will be a personal way each child can connect with our Veteran’s Day program. We are so grateful for their unselfish service to us and to our country!
Thank you for your support!
Mrs. Grossinger
VETERAN’S DAY
The Cadott Community School District would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Veterans for their service to our country and for protecting our freedom. All Veterans and members of the Women’s Auxiliary are invited to a Veterans’ Day Program held at Cadott Jr/Sr High School on Friday, November 9th at 10:00 AM. Coffee and refreshments will be served to Veterans and Auxiliary Members prior to the program, beginning at 9:30 am in the high school gym.
EXEMPLARY STUDENTS
We would like to highlight Eternity Osgood, Summer Chady, Kristina Buttke, and Thomas Schofield this week for exemplary character and strong effort!
Keep up the great work!
Mrs. Goettl
Cadott Vision Screening
With the help of the Cadott Lions Club we were able to screen 243 students in the elementary school and 125 students in the Jr./Sr. High School using a Welch Allyn Spot Vision Screener in October.
Vision disability is one of the most prevalent conditions among children. One out of four children suffer from vision problems. With this new technology it is much easier and quicker to screen children for a variety of possible vision problems. The Spot Vision Screener can screen for and detect six amblyopic risk factors in children as young as 6 months.
• Myopia (nearsightedness)
• Hyperopia (farsightedness)
• Astigmatism (blurred vision)
• Anisometropia (unequal refractive power)
• Strabismus (eye misalignment)
• Anisocoria (unequal pupil size)
Parents are notified of any children that are found to have concerns and it is recommended that they follow-up with their doctor for further evaluation.
Thank you again to our Cadott Lions Club for their commitment to helping our school and community!
Thank you,

1. Caring for Classroom gift cards are the perfect way for teachers to purchase classroom supplies, educational games, etc for their classrooms. Cadott Elementary teachers love to receive these gift cards. PACE gets so many compliments on how amazing these gift cards are! Last year you gifted over $2,000 in teacher gift cards! Let’s make this year even better!!
2. Renew or purchase magazine subscriptions and PACE earns 50% of the profits for us to use towards field trips, classroom supplies etc.
