First Grade News!
November 16th-20th
As of today, we only have 23 days of school left before we break for Christmas. That being said, it is VERY important that your child is here every day on time. The more time spent in school, the more we learn and it is my goal for each student to meet quarter targets.
Thanks again for all you do to help make your student successfull!
Hope you have a great week!

Week 14 Spelling List
I had several questions about our spelling list during conferences so I wanted to expalin it again to everyone. The first three words are words that can easily be sounded out. The next five, (italicized) focus on a specific skill we talk about for the week. This weeks skill is spelling with a concenent e. The bolded words are our tricky words. Each week we add two on, the words stay on for six weeks to hopefully help the students remember the spelling and word.
If you are needing another master copy of the words that we sent out at the begining of the year please let me know and I would be happy to get it for you.
Winter Weather Notifications
Winter weather is just around the corner and if conditions warrant, the ISD may have to cancel or delay the start of the school day. There are several ways the ISD will inform parents, guardians, students and staff in just such an instance.
Notification methods include traditional media (radio and television), social media (ISD Facebook and Twitter and Dr. Herl's Twitter- use links below to follow), district website (www.isdschools.org) and School Messenger (telephone and email messaging system). Remember- any days lost to inclement weather are added to the end of the school year.
