Thankful For Each of You
As we approach the Thanksgiving Break, I want to take a moment for self-reflection both personally and professionally. Over the next few days, I encourage you to do the same. In our stressful, often thankless jobs, we must step back and realize all the many blessings in our lives. For me, my family has been by my side every step of the way and we cannot wait to take our kids on our first ever Disney trip starting tomorrow afternoon. I've never been and this is almost 2 years in the making as we had to cancel last minute last December. I am thankful for good health, my parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, extended family, and believe it or not, my in-laws - they've always been so amazing to me :). Additionally, we have a core group of friends that keep us grounded and allow us to be ourselves with never any drama among the group.
Professionally, I get to work alongside each of you - I know we are early in this journey together, but I am more and impressed each day with what you all do for children. If you are reading this, this means you. You all make Hickory Ridge Middle School the place it is and the place to be. I work alongside compassionate, dedicated professionals who want the very best each day for our students. As I continue to grow in my position, I am surrounded by professionals who have patience with me, can laugh alongside, and challenge me to be my best. I thrive in a work environment that is predicated on working hard to grow students, support one another, and have a little fun while doing those things.
Please just take a minute to step back and reflect on what you may be thankful for. This Thanksgiving, I will be thinking of you wishing you a happy and healthy break surrounding by family and friends.

Need CEU's? A message from HR
If staff members are looking for ideas for getting credits for their licensure, we have a place on the HR website that they can go to for ideas.
On the HR licensure page, underneath the table of credits is a link “if I am short on credits where can I go?”
When they click on this link we have a working document with ideas of free resources.
The direct link to this page is: https://www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/Page/75192 if you want to share it with anyone.
Also, be sure to check periodically your licensure status and the amount that you need for renewal.
