RHS Volleyball 2018
Welcome to our RHS Volleyball Family!
Welcome to the RHS Volleyball team!
We are so excited that you are going to be a part of our RHS volleyball Family this year!
As a member of this volleyball team you will be expected to be your best on and off the court. There are high expectations of players to be excellent students, role models, and citizens. Being part of any team requires some sacrifices to become strong individual players and strong members of a team. Dedication and hard work is required by those involved in order to have a successful season and a strong volleyball team.

Team Rules
Eligibility: PLAYING SPORTS IS NOT A RIGHT!
- Athlete may not practice or participate with the team without a current physical form completed by a doctor and turned into either the coach or the school office.
- Players must remain academically eligible throughout the season by passing at least three courses. Student first, Athlete second! Use the time before practices/games to get help and/or make up work.
- Players must follow school rules and remain in good standing with the school.
- Players should not use drugs, alcohol, and/or tobacco or be caught handling these substances. (BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA)
- ISS/OSS may result in dismissal from the team.
Appropriate Dress:
- During Games players must have and be wearing all of the following: Royal Blue spandex, Black crew socks, knee pads, and proper shoes. Ankle braces are recommended but not required. (No disrobing in a public area).
- During Practice: proper sporting shoes, shorts, t-shirt, knee pads. Not being prepared means an unexcused absence from practice.
- Gum, barrettes, hair beads, or jewelry of any kind are not allowed on the court during games. (This includes the ‘no show’ studs or Band-Aids to cover new piercings.)
Practice and Game Requirements
- Players are expected to attend as many games for the opposite (JV/Varsity team) as possible. We ask they do this in order to help them come together as a team and be able to support their teammates. We understand that things come up which is why we don't require them to stay for every match, HOWEVER, players have been assigned stats for games. If they cannot stay for the game it is THEIR responsibility to find someone to do their job.
- JV will set up the net and Varsity will clean up the bleachers and tear down the net. WE ARE ALL PART OF THE RHS VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND WILL SUPPORT EACH OTHER!!!
- Away Matches: After all matches are finished, there will be a bus going back to RHS. If athletes choose to ride home with their parents, they must have their PARENT sign them out with one of the coaches or get prior written consent from the PRINCIPAL.
- Practices will be open to players and coaches only.
Absences
If the coaches do not know before the practice or game and are not told specifically by the athlete or parent themselves, it is unexcused. Unnecessary reasons for absence will also be looked at as unexcused, including forgotten clothes, along with excessive excused absence, tardiness, or leaving early from practices and games.
1st time: make up conditioning as seen fit by the coaches
2nd time: sit out the next match
3rd time: possible removal from the team.
Athletes who have to sit out matches are still expected to dress in uniform and sit with the team at the game, both on the bench and supporting other teams.
Injured Players
- Injured players need to report to practice to get treatment and watch practice as much as possible. If they do not attend practice and are capable, it will be considered UNEXCUSED!!
Game Conduct
- NO unsportsmanlike conduct by parents or athletes toward RHS players, opposing teams, coaches or officials will be tolerated at ANYTIME. Action of this kind will be dealt by administration or coaches.
- If you would like to express ill feelings about the team, coaches, opposing teams, or officials please refrain from doing it in a public form.
- Players are expected to sit together as a team, participate in team cheers and support the team no matter their personal feelings.
- Athletes are expected to give 100% at all times at games as well as practice.
On to the Fun Stuff!
