Principal's Message
Welcome to our 'new look' newsletter. There are some great features include translating capabilities and not having to zoom in to read the pdf if you are viewing it from your phone. I am happy to recieve any feedback about this new format.
I hope everyone had a wonderful break and did many wonderful things with their family. My family and I went to Broadbeach in Queensland. Even though it rained for 4 out of the 6 days we managed to visit Sea World and Curumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. The highlight was having my son meet SpongeBob SquarePants at Sea World, he was very excited. I know some families celebrated Eid Al Adha towards the end of the term holidays. I hope you all had a superb time, celebrating with family and friends.
I would like to thank Wanwisa Srimanon, who is Acting Assistant Principal for three weeks, while Belinda Salera-Bartolo is away on long service leave, enjoying the delights of Europe. Wanwisa comes with a wealth of educational and leadership skills and is available, like myself, to discuss anything with you.
What an awesome time the disco was! Students loved dancing to some cool tunes. Money raised will go towards Grade 6 Graduation. Thank you to the Grade 5/6 team and everyone who helped make this a success.
We have so many exciting events coming up this term: camp, Book Week (start thinking about your book character costumes), excursions, F-2 101 days of school, Pizza Day and Father's Day celebrations. I look forward to celebrating these all with you.

School Captain News
At CHPS, students in year 5/6 have been working on a new topic on Space. Teachers have been providing us with the support that students need on a hard topic. On the 15th of July, this Friday, the girls tee ball team is going to finals. We hope the CHPS girls win. Camp is coming soon on the 15th of August, make sure if you are coming you bring all the stuff that is required. All the sheets have been handed out by Mrs Yilmaz. Please bring the forms back as soon as possible. Book Club has also been handed out, if you are interested in a book return the book club form and money by Thursday to Mrs Yilmaz.

New beanies are on their way!
The students spoke and we listened. Newly designed beanies are on their way. They should arrive in the next two weeks. Students will be able to purchase these are part of the CHPS Uniform, or continue to wear their navy blue (with logo) beanie. Cost $15
Optometrist Visit
Wednesday 27th July – second visit for Foundation Students only.
Friday 29th July – third visit for Foundation Students and other grade levels as required.
Parking around the school
Please remember to obey all parking signs when dropping your children off at school. Even when it is raining, please do not drop your child off on the crossing - this is very dangerous for your child, other children trying to cross, the public, the crossing supervisors, yourself and your vehicle.
We have three entry points and parking available on the road, approximately 15 metres from the gates. It is much safer, if you park where allowed, have your child exit from the footpath side and walk along the footpath to the school gate.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe.
