Hello Parkdale Elementary School Families and Friends,

I hope you're doing well. I'm excited to meet you in person! Here are some important updates for you:

School Supplies

You don't need to buy any school supplies. Our teachers are getting everything ready for students. You only need to bring:

• A backpack
• A water bottle
• Athletic shoes for PE

If you don't have these items, we can help.

Teacher Assignments

For students in 1st to 5th grade, we will send you a letter in the mail telling you who your teacher is. We can't wait to share this information with you!

Kindergarten Students

We'll wait before putting kindergarten students in classes. We want to get to know your student first. Half of the Kindergarten students will come to school on Monday, and the other half on Tuesday (details below). On Wednesday and Thursday, kindergarten teachers will visit students at home. They'll call you to set a time to visit.

First Week with Students:

Monday, Aug. 28:

• Late Start on Monday. Classes start at 8:30 a.m. on the first day.
• 1st - 5th grade students start.
• Half of kindergarten students with last names A-L come to school

Tuesday, Aug. 29:

• Classes start at 7:30 a.m.
• All 1st - 5th grade students.
• Half of kindergarten students with last names M-Z come to school

Wednesday, Aug. 30:

• All 1st - 5th grade students.
• Kindergarten students stay home, and teachers visit them at home

Thursday, August 31:

• All 1st - 5th grade students.
• Kindergarten students stay home, and teachers visit them at home

Friday, Sept. 1:

• All Students (kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th) come to school

School Hours and Meals

School starts at 7:30am and ends at 2:05pm.

Students receive free breakfast and lunch every day. You can also bring your own lunch.

Staying Cool in the Heat

If it's really hot, you can go to the Parkdale Library or the Hood River library from 9am to noon, and 1pm to 5pm. They have water, snacks, and sunscreen to help you stay cool. Take breaks in the heat.

Hola familias y amigos de la Escuela Primaria Parkdale,

Espero que se encuentre bién durante el tiempo de verano. ¡Tengo ganas para conocerte en persona! Aquí hay algunos recordatorios importantes para usted:

Útiles escolares

No necesitas comprar ningún material escolar. Nuestras maestras y maestros están preparando todo para los estudiantes. Solo necesitas traer:

• Una mochila
• Una botella de agua
• Calzado deportivo para educación física

Si no los tiene, podemos ayudarlo.

List de clases y maestros

Para los estudiantes de 1° a 5° grado, les enviaremos una carta por correo indicando quién es su maestro. ¡Tenemos ganas para compartir esto contigo!

Estudiantes del Kinder

Vamos a esperar para crear las listas y las clases para Kinder. Primero queremos conocer a su estudiante. La mitad de los estudiantes de Kinder vendrán a la escuela el lunes y la otra mitad el martes (detalles a continuación). Los miércoles y jueves, los maestros de Kinder visitarán a los estudiantes en casa. Les llamarán para agendar la hora de la visita.

Primera semana con los estudiantes:

Lunes, 28 de agosto:

• Las clases comienzan a las 8:30 de la mañana el lunes.
• Comienzan los alumnos de 1° a 5° grado.
• La mitad de los estudiantes del Kinder con apellidos A-L vienen a la escuela.

Martes 29 de agosto:

• Comienzan las 7:30 a.m.
• Todos los estudiantes de 1° a 5° grado.
• La mitad de los estudiantes del Kinder con apellidos M-Z vienen a la escuela.

Miércoles 30 de agosto:

• Todos los estudiantes de 1° a 5° grado.
• Los estudiantes de jardín de infantes se quedan en casa y los maestros los visitan en casa.

Jueves 31 de agosto:

• Todos los estudiantes de 1° a 5° grado.
• Los estudiantes de Kinder se quedan en casa y los maestros los visitan en casa.

Viernes, 1 de septiembre:

• Todos los estudiantes (Kinder, 1°, 2°, 3°, 4° y 5°) vienen a la escuela.

Horario Escolar y Comidas

La escuela comienza a las 7:30 am y termina a las 2:05 pm.

Los estudiantes reciben desayuno y almuerzo gratis todos los días. También puede traer su propio almuerzo.

Mantenerse fresco en el calor

Si hace mucho calor, puede ir a la biblioteca de Parkdale o a la biblioteca de Hood River de las 9 al mediodía y de la 1 pm a las 5 pm. Tienen allá agua, refrigerios y protector solar para ayudarlo a mantenerse fresco. Tome descansos en el calor.
