Heath Brook School...

Information and news from and to the school community

December, Part 2

Hello Heath Brook families,

Just a few more days before we take a break - some to celebrate; some to rest; some to do both.

This coming week we will be celebrating our wonderful second-grade teaching team and our students who will be moving to Center Elementary School, starting January 5. It is important to recognize beginnings and endings, and to give thanks for the times in between.

Have a joyous end of December and Happy almost New Year!

Preschool Curriculum View

We are in the process of selecting a new curriculum resource to replace Big Day for PK in the fall. Our team has spent many hours reviewing different resources and has made a recommendation to purchase Frog Street. If you are interested in viewing this resource, it will be on display in the foyer at the Dewing School through January 10, 2023.

Golden Hula Hoop Award - Physical Education with Mr. Bea

For the month of November, the winner of the Heath Brook School Physical Education Class of the Month was Mrs. Bancroft’s 2nd-grade class! Every time they were in the gym last month they were very respectful and helpful to each other and showed great sportsmanship in every game we played. I knew they were always listening to instructions and did their best in whatever was asked of them. Congratulations to Mrs. Bancroft's class for earning the November PE Class of the Month!!

December News from the Nurse

It's that time of year again, and the cold weather has arrived. Make sure your children

have a warm hat and mittens for when they go outdoors for recess.

Kind Reminder

If your child received a referral for vision or hearing, please see their primary care

physician (PCP) for additional evaluation. Referrals should be signed by a medical

professional and returned to the school nurse.

Physicals

Please send in any updated physicals for your child to help us keep our records up to date.

Thank you in advance.

Illnesses

We are noticing an increase in respiratory, gastrointestinal, and flu illnesses as we spend

more time with others indoors. Please remember the 24-hour guideline while dealing with

any illnesses associated with fever, vomit, or diarrhea.

Fever- To return, you must be fever-free and not require fever medication.

Vomit- 24 hours begins from last episode

Stay warm,

Mrs. Rossi
