Panther Pause
20 years of Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School
10.21.16
Panthers,
It has been another great week at CHHS as we have gotten to celebrate many of our students demonstrating PRIDE. Last night, I was able to attend the fall musical put on by our wonderful theatre department. It was amazing to see the hard work and dedication the students put in to get such a great reward at the end of a great show. It is not too late to catch the show with showings on Saturday and Monday.
This week GHS and CHHS have competed in many different avenues, but probably the best thing to come from competition this week is the $4,846.52 raised to provide surgery for children born with a cleft pallet. This money will fund surgeries for 20 children in need. We are incredibly excited about the competitions throughout the day with our crosstown friends. If you are planning on attending the football game tonight, get there early because parking will go fast; there will be overflow parking at GHS. Have a great Friday and GO PANTHERS!!

Student Voice
Throughout my years at CHHS, I've enjoyed almost everything about my time here. One of the things I most enjoy about CHHS is our amazing theatre program and our excellence in most extracurricular activities. The past three years we've had consecutive "Best Musical" nominations at Dallas Summer Musicals, as well as making it to the state level of the UIL One Act Play Competition. Although achievements are great, the real beauty of the department is the fact that we're able to learn so much about teamwork, working hard, and achieving our full potential. Everyone in theatre also has a wonderful attitude and I think that's due to the incredible leadership. The opportunity to do so many wonderful things in theatre throughout my high school career is something I'll always remember about my time at CHHS.
Another thing that I think sets CHHS apart is the great sense of pride that we have for our school. The students have really taken the notion of "panther pride" to heart, and it's very apparent in the way we act and carry ourselves. Everyone always tries their best to be a good person and do everything they can for the community, because we are proud to be panthers, and we want people to see what being a panther is all about. To me, having Panther Pride is truly admirable about our school.

Our neighbors need their parking spots and are responsible to their customers as their parking areas are private property. GCISD provides overflow parking and shuttle services from Grapevine High School to Mustang Panther Stadium free of charge. Utilizing this free service and respecting our neighbors will help everyone to have an enjoyable experience at Mustang Panther Stadium.

Shuttle Busses for classes at GHS
Be sure to check your schedule for any classes that may be at GHS. These classes will have room numbers starting with an 0 instead of a letter. You will be shuttled to GHS. You must be at the bus pick up at least 5 mins. before the dismissal bell of the previous class.
Those who have GHS classes for 1/5 period will need to be at the bus stop at the back of the building. (There will be a bell at 8:30am to remind you to catch the shuttle bus at the back of the building.) All other classes at GHS will need to be at the bus stop in the front foyer.
Athletic Physicals & Electronic Forms
Please click here for all information and forms required for participation in athletics. Contact the certified athletic trainers meredith.swayne@gcisd.net or brian.terrell@gcisd.net if you have any questions.
Dismissing Students Early from class
The Attendance office will not dismiss a student until parent contact has been made by parent note or parent phone call. (E-mails will not be accepted ) Our preference is for the parent to send a note to the Attendance Office with their student first thing in the morning. The Attendance office will exchange the parent note for an Early Dismissal form. The parent note must include the student first and last name, time of dismissal (not the time of the appointment), reason (personal or illness) and the parent signature and phone number. Parents do not need to come in to the school to check out their student if you have sent a note for dismissal or called in advance requesting a dismissal.
If you decide to come to school to check out your student, please allow us plenty of time to locate your student. It takes a while to locate students in a building as large as ours (30-45 minutes). Students are particularly hard to locate if they are in their athletic class or at lunch. If you send a note requesting the students early dismissal with your student in the morning you will eliminate time spent waiting for us to locate your student.
