What is Better Business CasesTM?

Better Business CasesTM has been developed by HM Treasury and the Welsh government. It is a systematic and objective approach to all stages of the business case development process. It sits alongside, and complements, HM Treasury’s Green Book guidance and is based on the ‘Five Case Model’ - the UK government’s best practice approach to planning spending proposals and enabling effective business decisions.

The UK Government method of approach to preparing a Business Case is internationally accepted as ‘Best Practice’ and is gaining momentum within government and the private sector.

Who should take Better Business CasesTM?

The Better Business CasesTM Programme at Bristol Management Centre is relevant to anyone who writes or reviews business cases in the public or private sector, from Junior staff to CEO level.

The Foundation and Practitioner courses are suitable for any organisation seeing the need for a more standardised and controlled approach to preparing a Business Case. If adopted, this approach can lead to a reduction in unnecessary spending and an improved decision-making process.

For individuals, the course will help you to write a more succinct and professional business case, with greater chance of securing the necessary approval, funding and support for change initiatives.
