Medication News
Greetings from the nurse! Our school district has a select supply of the Ellume COVID-19 home test kits available for families. To use this test, you will need to download the free Ellume COVID-19 Home Test
App and carefully follow the instructions on your smartphone. The results are sent directly to your phone. We are able to send the test kit home with your child with parent/guardian permission, or the test kit can be picked up at the school. Each kit contains one test. Please let your child’s school know if you are interested.
Also, just a reminder! ALL medications, including over-the-counter medicine, MUST be authorized by a parent/guardian AND A PHYSICAN. This is Michigan Law (School Code 380) as well as the policy for the Swan Valley School District (2780). Please contact me at 989-921-2621 should you have questions/concerns.
Wishing everyone a happy and health school year!

From The Bird's Nest
Seniors:
Beginning Wednesday, September 1, I will be making one of many visits to your English class with Mrs. Mazany to help you prepare for your post-secondary plans. We will talk about scholarships, college apps, the FAFSA, college rep visitations and most anything else related to your post-secondary plans. I will be glad to answer any and all of your questions. Please come prepared to ask!!
Be sure you are accessing Senior Information in my Schoology Course, The Bird’s Nest. Most everything we discuss and everything you need to know can be found here. You should have registered for this course in Mr. Q’s class last year. If you have not, you must use this access code: N7QZ-5ZT4-5DQP3
The first of our College Rep Visitations is scheduled for Monday, September 12 @ 9:00. It is with the rep from Delta College. So, if you are thinking of attending Delta for your post-secondary education, you should register to attend this presentation. CMU will follow at 10:30 that same morning. See Mrs. McLellan in the Counseling Office. You need to register at least one day prior to the meetings we hold.
Looking forward in September, we have the following colleges scheduled to visit our seniors: Alma College (14th), SVSU (23rd), Northern Michigan (26th), Davenport University (26th), Northwood University (28th), and Ferris State (28th). Pre-registration is required for each presentation. More reps will be scheduled soon.
Have you started your scholarship search? Be thinking about college funding and how scholarships are very helpful. Last year, we set an all-time scholarship record of over $4.3 million dollars.
