Welcome back assembly
Dr. Scaletta got the whole school together to welcome us back and motivate us to do our best and be kind.
Rules
After reading Officer Buckle and Gloria, which is a great book to discuss rules and why we should have them, we cut out stars and wrote our most important rules on them.
Team building
One student had to build the tower using solo cups and construction paper squares, then their partner had to yank the construction paper squares out so that the cups land inside each other. Very challenging. Some teams were able to do this---so I gave them more cups to try!
Find someone who....
Students had a chance to get to know each other better by asking them things that they liked to do using their clipboards and recording sheets.
Math
We played a game called Nim. Students lay out 13 counters in front of them. On their turn, players take 1, 2, or 3, counters from the pile. the object is to be the one to leave their opponent with the last counter.
Morning tubs
We start our morning off stress free by exploring tubs set up with fun activities like play doh, legos, tracers, building blocks, and books. It is a calm way to ease into our busy day.
Top Dog
Mrs. Hall was the first top dog. She loves dogs and loves to eat hot dogs. She has 2 grown children, Taylor (daughter) and Matt ( son). She has a rescue dog named Earl and she drinks gallons of coffee.
From Dr. Scaletta:
Parents- As is posted, you cannot exit the far east driveway during arrival or dismissal. Woodridge Police Department is monitoring this and writing tickets. Please follow the established traffic pattern when dropping off or picking up your student. Thank you.
