Principal's Message
As we focus our energy and efforts into Smarter Balanced testing--a way for students to showcase their cumulative learning--let's not forget that school is much more than that. School is also about the connections we make, the lives changed and the memories lived.
As such, we have had a number of wonderful culture building school wide activities that will ensure that students and staff will never forget. The Staff vs Students basketball game was tons of fun. There were many picture worthy shots and the students put up a great fight. Students in the stands had numerous signs and they gleefully cheered all the great plays.
On May 6th, the Cinco de Mayo performances were great. One performer, Jose Perez--a rather quiet kid on campus--wowed the crowd with his talented voice.
And the Students-vs-Staff Soccer Game featured three great staff goalies. And a great time was had by all.
Another set of fun activities were the Spirit Week events. The highlight was Friday, when students were encouraged to carry their school supplies in "anything but a backpack". The creative ways students did so was memorable.
School business is serious business. But such business, when infused with culture building activities and fun, helps make the school a place where we all want to be.
Let's all take part in helping and supporting such activities through the end of the 21-22 school year.
Sincerely,
Mr. Calderon
Interim Principal

For staff I will nominate Brittany Cooper. I don't know many of the new people, but I subbed her first period 8th grade English class, and all the students were respectful, responsible, and ready to learn. I noticed her classroom was neat, clean and orderly. I appreciate all those things in a colleague." Nominated by Mr. Lund
