PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
April 7, 2023
Dear Walnut Hills High School Families:
We hope that your child had a smooth transition back to school. This week we welcomed our students back with class meetings for each grade on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Even though there are not many weeks left in the school year, we know that these weeks can be some of the more stressful for students as they wrap up the year with culminating projects, end-of-course testing, and AP testing. The class meetings focused on student wellness and school culture. A highlight of the class meetings was a presentation by Sherrell Kuhns, a Walnut Hills alum and current Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Amazon. She talked about promoting inclusivity and belonging, important skills for our students and for how they can help enhance our diverse school community.
Next week we are running a block schedule so that students can take their state End of Course tests in English and Language Art courses. We appreciate your help in making certain that students are present, on-time, rested and ready for these important assessments.
There is a lot of information in this edition. Please take time to read and learn about the great things happening at Walnut Hills High School.
Sincerely,
John Chambers
