SENIORITIS
PARENTS: Watch Out for 2nd Semester “SENIORITIS”
Seniors should be receiving acceptance letters from colleges any day now, which will outline subsequent steps for final acceptance. One of the steps includes a request from the college asking for the student’s final transcripts. The College Freshmen Admissions Advisors are alerted to keep an eye out for students who do not meet the second semester requirements (i.e. needed course work dropped and poor grades--C-/D grades are not accepted anymore). Translation: colleges can rescind offers of acceptance if your grades take a nosedive. If you have dropped academic courses for 2nd semester, be sure to notify your colleges or universities. Do not wait for them to discover it on your eight semester transcript which must be sent in June 2017.

French Class News
Bread making Field Trip
This past Wednesday April 5th French students in level 3 and 4 rolled up their sleeves, dusted tables with flour and rolled out traditional French baguettes under the instruction of Jennifer Peterson and Megan Davis co-owners of Pine Street Kitchen and master bakers! Students were first given an overview of bread making and specifically how the French style baguette differs from other styles of bread. Then the students got to work. Each student received raw dough to work with and spent time working the dough with their hands before finally placing their dough to rest one final time before baking the next morning. The interactive demo was followed by a French baguette sandwich lunch. The next day Madame Goode picked up the fresh, right out of the over, still warm baguettes and distributed to the students. The students were incredibly excited to see their very own shaped bread and didn’t waste any time eating it!! A great field trip overall. Thanks to Pine St. Bakery and Pine St. Kitchen for welcoming us and introducing us to the world of French bread!
