Counselor Quarterly

February 2022

College Credit Plus

If a student in intending on participating in the CCP program next year, by taking classes with either Lakeland Community College OR Lake Erie College, both the student and one parent/guardian MUST complete the intent to participate form. Additionally, students MUST apply to the college they hope to attend. Just completing the intent to participate form does not guarantee their admission. This applies to CCP classes taught at Harvey High School. All information can be found on the College Credit Plus page of the Guidance Google Site.

End of Course Testing

We had great participation with our December make up End of Course tests. We appreciate parent support in making sure their students were in attendance. We will not be getting the results until the end of this month.

This year's End of Course testing will begin the last week of March and run through the second week of April. More information will be made available in the near future.

SOS Training

Students have been trained in "Signs of Suicide" . This program emphasizes the role of being a good friend and to ACT (Acknowledge - Care - Tell) when they see a peer struggling. We hope this creates a school wide support system for all students, letting them know that have a place to turn to if they need help.

Scholarships

Scholarship opportunities are continually updated on the Scholarship Page of the Guidance Google Site. It is highly encouraged that students begin to apply to for scholarships ASAP. Most local scholarships have been posted. Students should be currently applying for at LEAST one scholarship a week at this point if they do not want to get overwhelmed.
