Scholastic Book Fair will be open during Parent-Teacher Communication Days
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school. Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as
always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place Wednesday, October 12th
4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday, October 13 th 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the library.
- Our Book Fair offers a cash free payment option called eWallet. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s Wallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
- If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
- Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping: Scholastic.com/fair.
The countdown to more Bookjoy is on! Catch you at the Fair!
Thank You Rockbrook Families and Community Club for Supporting Our Teachers with Conference Meals from QDOBA!

Unity Day - Wednesday, October 19th
We are excited to share that our school community will celebrate Unity Day on Wednesday, October 19th this year. Unity Day is a annual event occurring during National Bullying Prevention Month in October that promotes joining together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Unity day was started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011 and is now celebrated around the world!
For more information on the history of Unity Day and its impact, please go to https://www.PACER.org/bullying/about/history.asp.
Wear something Orange on Unity Day! Every student and staff member at Rockbrook will be provided with something orange in celebration of Unity Day. We will also celebrate with a building wide activity that promotes a kind and inclusive school environment.
We hope you’ll take this opportunity to talk to your children about bullying prevention and all the positive things we can do to make healthier communities.
Sincerely,
Lisa Davis

ROCKBROOK HALLOWEEN PARTIES, FRIDAY, OCT 28th @ 2:30PM
Fun and Friendly Costumes Please!
Halloween is coming soon, and we look forward to the chance for many of our traditional Halloween events. It’s time to think about your costumes. For our school parade and party please wear only fun and friendly costumes. Fun and friendly excludes blood, gore, scary/frightening masks or clothing, and weapons. We request you reserve makeup for your evening trick-or-treating. If anyone has questions concerning the appropriateness of a costume, please contact the office. Thank you for keeping things on the fun and light side!
Parade and Parties
Please do not have your child wear costumes to school. If your child's costume includes typical school-appropriate clothing or can be worn underneath, these are great options. Students will have some time afforded to change before the parade but need to do so with minimal assistance from teachers.
To make sure we have enough room for the fun activities planned in classrooms we ask that families only join the classroom parties if they are one of the signed up volunteer families.
All families are welcome to join for our annual costume parade! If weather permits, this parade will come out the Northwest doors, along the parking lot, and back in the main entrance before the parties begin. Parents are welcome to come view the parade outside which will take place at 2:30pm.
Food Safety
Please remember to follow the District Approved Snack List. Linked is the list of what to bring for parties or birthdays. Thanks for helping to make Rockbrook a caring community for all of our students. We hope you have a fun and safe Halloween! While students will enjoy some treats in the room, most will be sent home for parent review.
