See Myanmar's Future with VIA alumni: Feb 5-22, 2016
Join veteran VIA travelers to Myanmar (also known as Burma) and first-time visitors for a timely examination of Myanmar’s political life and civil society, not to mention a first-ever chance (on a VIA trip) to experience the many cultures of Shan State.
The trip will take a first-hand look at Myanmar’s political intrigue and seismic shifts after Myanmar’s first (largely) free and fair national elections since 1990. Our visit falls between the 8 November 2015 national elections and before the new government takes office in March 2016, an ideal time to see the impact of the national elections and political dynamic.
You'll talk to political activists, civil society forces and other stakeholders in Yangon & Mandalay, and visit innovative NGOs, VIA fellows & the inspiring people of Myanmar.
