April 2021

I find it hard to believe that we have approached the last two months of this school year. My what an adventure it has been. Thank you for being so supportive the past 8 months. Your kids have worked so hard this year and overcome so many challenges and we know a lot of that has to do with your support at home!

With COVID restrictions being lifted at many levels, we are so excited to get to invite you to join in on several events and activities we will host during these last 8 weeks of school. Please make note of the upcoming events listed below. Some of these events include our fun book fair evenings, 3rd grade Poetry Slam, PreK water day, Walk-A-Thon day, Kindergarten graduation, and awards ceremonies for each grade level! STAAR Testing is coming!

Although last year, the state of Texas cancelled STAAR testing due to COVID-19 pandemic, that is not the case this year. More important than a score on a state test, the teachers have been working tirelessly all year to catch students up on what they missed in the spring of last year and also teach them this year's grade level content. We are proud of the hard work that your children have put in this year! That being said, the state requires that we complete STAAR testing as a measure of how our students are performing in relation to students throughout the state. Please help us by encouraging your child to do their best as teachers work to continue to help them grow academically. Here is a list of these important test dates:

April 6 - 4th grade Writing

May 11 - 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Math

May 12 - 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Reading

May 13 - 5th grade Science
