Spring 2023 Update for TAS Alumni & Supporters

Big picture

Anthony Alum (and Parents!)

Alums and former parents - you’ll see below our alumni spotlight is on Maggie Johnson, TAS c/o 2011. You know...I can still remember the entire dance routine I taught Maggie’s cheer squad in the fall of her 8th grade year. I remember where she sat in my computer lab and the incredible work she did for my class. And while Maggie is exceptional, she is not the exception. We remember all of our former students. We reminisce daily on the past, hoping our graduates are happy and successful wherever they are in life. We are full of excitement when we get to share updates on TAS alums with fellow co-teachers. We always love to hear from you, but better than that is seeing you! Please come to our spring event on April 1st (see below for more information). We’d love to see you there!

TAS Alum Spotlight: Maggie Johnson

  • What years did you attend TAS? 2002-2011
  • What is your favorite TAS memory? There are so many! I think back on School Spirit weeks, our annual plays/musicals, and Pizza Fridays all with such gratitude.
  • How did TAS prepare you? TAS gave me teachers that believed in me and supported me in every aspect of education. It gave me friends that are still friends to this day. It gave me the confidence to know that no matter where I go, my Anthony education has prepared me for a lifetime of learning.
  • Where did you attend high school and college? I attended high school at Mount St. Mary Academy, and then I graduated from The University of Tulsa in Oklahoma.
  • What are you doing now? I am still in school! I am currently halfway through my graduate school program at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. I am getting my Master's in Divinity and on the path to being Ordained as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church (USA). I also serve as the Director of Youth Ministry at Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.
  • Anything else you’d like to say about TAS? All I can say to TAS is thank you. My sister, brother, and I owe so much to Anthony and the strong foundation it provided for us to safely and confidently launch into the world. Grateful is an understatement!

Anthony Alums in Action

Gabriella Angtuaco (TAS Class of 2019 - pictured on the right) attended the All-State Choir Conference and earned a spot in the 2023 Arkansas All-State SSAA Choir. Gabi spent three memorable days rehearsing and performing music with the best singers in the state. This is the second year in a row that Gabi has earned this high honor. #AnthonyAlum
