This Week at St. Stan's
Picture Day is Coming
This week, students will bring home information regarding school pictures. I will also send out additional information via email and in future Principal's Pads. Ordering will be conducted entirely online this year, so there is no need to return envelopes or send checks/money to the school. Please check your child's backpack and folders in the coming days to make sure you don't miss the initial flyer of information.
Pictures will be taken for PK through 7th grade students on Friday, October 15. Our 8th grade students will have "graduation pictures" taken in January. If you need any other information, please contact our office with your questions.
Basketball Practices
The basketball season is right around the corner and practices are starting this week for boys and girls in grades 4-8. If you are still interested in having your son or daughter participate or if you have more questions, please contact Mr. Ryan Reed at rreed@ststanschicago.org. Please view this document for information on basketball as well as a permission form that must be returned to the school. We ask that any payments be in the form of a check or money order.
FSP Lunch Menu
The lunch menu for the month of October is now available. To see the current menu and order a lunch for the next few weeks, please click on this link.
Gentle Reminders
Dress Code with Seasonal Changes
As we get into the fall season, temperatures are likely to fluctuate over the coming weeks. Please help your child(ren) to be proactive in choosing their clothing for each school day. Mornings might be chilly, but temperatures will rise throughout the day so dressing in layers is always a good option.
I urge everyone to keep our school dress code in mind as well. Students should be in appropriate, school approved attire during the school day. This means that cardigan sweaters, long-sleeved polo shirts, and school approved spirit attire are acceptable so long as they are worn in coordination with the daily uniform. Students were alerted of these instructions last Thursday morning, but we appreciate your help in reminding them at home.
FSP Free & Reduced Lunch Survey
Two weeks ago, your child brought home a letter/survey that was distributed by Food Service Professionals. I ask that each family complete and send that survey back to the school as soon as possible. The information we gather from this form is very important because it helps to determine our eligibility for state and federal funding that can be used to benefit the educational experience of our students. Please let us know if you have any questions.
i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment
Our goal as a school is to have each student utilize the i-Ready programming for 45 minutes each week. Research has shown that this amount of time spent in direct contact with the program results in significant academic progress for students throughout the course of the year. For a parent guide to i-Ready, please click on this link for more information.

Congratulations St. Stan's Cross-Country Team!
