Student Course Request Heads Up

Please stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information about the course request process this spring. Now is the time to start having conversations with students about their plans for next year!

School Counseling Intern

Caleb Willis will be starting as a school counseling intern this week and will be with us for the remainder of the school year on Tuesdays and Fridays. Please say hi and welcome him to the TPlus team!

Mental Health Team Tip of the Week:

The Healthy Mind Platter contains seven essential mental activities necessary for optimum mental health in daily life, according to Dr. Dan Siegel and Dr. David Rock.

We covered sleep, physical time, focus and connecting time in recent weeks. Today we're highlighting PlayTime. When we allow ourselves to be spontaneous or creative, playfully enjoying novel experiences, we help make new connections in the brain. So the next time you play a game, act silly, be artistic, or imaginative - remember you're actually improving your brain function!

Stay tuned for more info on the sixth essential activity next week - or check it out for yourself:

Finishing the year strong

We have just seven weeks left and I want to remind everyone of the importance of maintaining structure and routine. It is important to remember the students need to see us modeling professionalism until the last day. With that, please remember to be here on time and if you need to leave early you should be checking in with me or Traci.

  • Licensed staff day begins at 8 am ends at 4 pm.
  • SEA staff day begins at 9 am and ends at 3:30 pm (3:15 if you are riding a bus or taking your last break from 3:15-3:30.

This article below has some great strategies and tips to help us all finish the year strong!

Brunch and Bingo

Enjoy Brunch and Bingo Saturday, May 5th at Bryant Square Park hosted by Mpls Community Education's Access Program for adults with Developmental Disabilities and the Mpls Park and Rec Board. See the flyer for details!

Case Managers- Head's Up! - Returned Report Cards

We have a stack of report cards that have been returned by USPS. These will be placed in case manager's mail slots for students affected.

Please make every effort to contact the student, get updated information and give the student their report card. Be sure to ask for apartment numbers! That seems to be a common reason for returns.

All updates should be given to Melissa, she will enter the info in Discovery.

For students who no longer attend T-Plus, you may shred the report card.

Thank you for helping us have the most up-to-date information on our students!
