Technology Services

As we get ready for our students to return, there are several technology tasks that need to be completed in order for the year to go smoothly. We hope this will help you guide through unpacking technology for the new school year.

As a general rule, please contact the help desk or place a work order to begin the process of technology assistance.

NEW TEACHER/ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNOLOGY

Please put a work order in for all your new teachers or administrative personnel to receive their new technology. The campus technician will bring the new technology to the campus and issue that technology to them or your designee/technology liaison.

After they receive their technology and are assigned their classroom/office, if they need assistance with setting up their technology, please ask them to enter a work order through our help desk system and our technician will help them in the order in which the work orders are entered.

Once that has been done, please use the following responsibility matrix for points of contact if needed.

Frontline TEAMS is our primary source of data and information. This is our Student Information System and our Business Information System.

TEACHERS

1. Login and confirm the courses your are teaching.
2. Set your Gradebook for the beginning of the year. Setting up Gradebook

1. Login to confirm you have access to Attendance, Student Demographics, Reporting features& Business applications.
2. Contact PEIMS to set up training or assistance with gaining access to the above.

Every year there are certain things that need to be done in Eduphoria to ensure that faculty and staff information is correct and updated. Here are a few of the items that are needed to be accomplished in order for T-TESS and T-PESS process to be completely in Eduphoria. We will not be utilizing Qualtrics for walk-throughs this year, it will all be in Eduphoria.

Help desk is our primary point of contact for all users in Waco ISD. Please know that we will respond to work orders faster than emails or text messages. Campus secretaries have all been trained on our new system for card access. They now have the ability to give access to new teachers and staff throughout their building.

Please take a moment before school starts to audit your cameras for any needed cleaning or adjustments.

Starting this back to school, Waco ISD is adding an extra layer of security to your Google Suite account. It's called Multi Factor Authentication, and it's like having an additional lock on your digital door.🔒

When you log in to Google, after entering your password, you'll need to verify your access using a trusted device or token. This way, even if someone manages to get your password, they won't be able to get into your account without that second piece of the authentication puzzle. It's like needing both a password and a secret code to get to your data.

Multi Factor Authentication MFA is a solid protection against cyber threats. By requiring both something you know (your password) and something you have (your device or token), it makes it much harder for unauthorized individuals to breach your account.

All student passwords will be reset prior to the school year starting on August 10-th. They will go their default password of the following in order:

1. Capital first letter of their first name
2. lower case first letter of the last name
3. @
4. #
5. last four digits of their student ID#

Example... Ja@#1234

After they log in for the first time, they will be prompted to change their password to a unique password of their choosing. Unique Passwords must contain characters from the following categories:

• 1 uppercase letters (A through Z)

• 1 lowercase letters (a through z)

• 1 number (0 through 9)

• 1 special characters (~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/)

• Minimum of 8 characters

Examples of acceptable Unique Passwords:
