Adler Gazette
It's a great day to be a Gator! (OCTOBER EDITION)
From the Principal's Desk
It is hard to believe we are just about to jump into November! With even less sunlight and seemingly less time every day, I appreciate you reading this newsletter and checking in on Adler Park.
If your student has not already told you, our playground has some new equipment thanks to the AFA. This has been a big topic of discussion amongst the kids. Orchestra for fourth and fifth grade is now in full swing and music is filling the hallways.
Our building-wide Halloween celebration will be taking place on Monday (10/31). Please feel free to come to Adler at 12:25 to see your student participate in our costume parade! Park in the front of the building or at the Adler pool and walk to the back playground. After lunch, students will walk the halls and circle the blacktop on the playground (weather permitting).
Pack your student’s costume in their backpack or a separate bag–they do not wear their costumes to school. Students may wear masks but make sure that they can safely walk in the parade if wearing a mask. Costumes should not be violent in nature and no types of weapons are not permitted.
We are looking forward to seeing the kids in their costumes and celebrating the spooky season!

Adler Remote Learning Plan
As the weather grows colder, we need to think about remote learning possibilities. If an emergency day is used, your student may need to join a Google Meet with their school device. If you do not have a school device at home, there are other ways to access Google Meets. Please email your classroom teacher for a direct link to the meeting.
Otherwise, please take a look at the attached document HERE. This gives step-by-step directions on how to access Google Meets and your student’s direct classroom code.
Strategic Plan
Are you interested in sharing your opinion and helping build D70? As we begin our strategic long-range planning process for the next five years, Libertyville School District 70 is asking staff, parents/guardians, and community members to share their feedback through a strategic planning survey. This survey will assist District 70 in making decisions about the future.
Please fill out one survey for each school your children attend. It should take 10-15 minutes to complete. This anonymous survey is not collecting emails or names. Please reply by Nov. 4.
A Note from the Nurse
If you consented for Shield's asymptomatic screening this year, you will have noticed kits coming home in your child(ren)'s backpacks. One kit can be returned to school each Tuesday. Please remind your child(ren) to drop it off in the bin in the lobby, Tuesday morning, when they arrive. Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks!
