A Message from the Superintendent
November 18, 2022
Dear Families, Staff and Community Members,
As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving and enjoy a well-deserved break, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve the children in our schools. As parents and educators, we are fortunate to be able to help shape each of these young lives into citizens making a meaningful difference in the world, and can better do so in partnership with each other. There is exciting work ahead—both for our buildings and academics. I am committed to ensuring that this work is carried out in a way that we can all be proud of.
From our PTO members working to support both celebratory events and service opportunities for our students, to our teachers creating learning environments where student voice and choice is honored, to our community who most recently opted to support funding improvements that will make our schools safer–we have much to be thankful for in Winnetka!
In this short video, our students candidly share things for which they are grateful. If you haven’t heard it recently, you are doing great as a parent, teacher, leader…and our students notice! They are the beneficiaries of our good work and the inspiration to keep pushing forward.
I wish you all a joyful Thanksgiving with your loved ones, and a week of rest!
Most Sincerely,
Dr. Kelly Tess
Superintendent
