Principal's Message

Happy New Year 2023! I hope you all had an enjoyable break and were able to enjoy the holidays with family and friends.

We kicked off the new year this week at school by celebrating our students! On Tuesday, we had Attendance Awards for December. We had about 190 students with Perfect Attendance for December! That is almost half of our school!

We also had our December PBIS awards this week. We recognized students for Being Safe, Being Responsible, and Being Respectful. Our librarian, Ms. Passwaters, also recognizes students with a library award. We are so proud of our Bulldogs.

We ended our week with a DANCE PARTY! We celebrated filling our Bulldog Buck tower.

See photos below from these events.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school office or you can reach me by email at tcockerill@susanvillesd.org.

Hope you a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Cockerill

Parking Lot Safety and Courtesy

For those of you who drive your child to school, you may have noticed our Principal or other staff members directing traffic both in the morning and after school. We do this to keep our students safe, to help our buses and student transport stay on schedule, and to keep the traffic flowing so that there is less congestion on Fourth Street. We ask that you drive safely and slowly in our parking lot. Please do not drop your child off unless you are at the drop off zone in the front of the school. Do not park your car in this area. It is for drop off and pick up only. If you wish to walk your chid into school, please park on Fourth Street or one of the side streets. See below for the map of which lane to be in during pick up time at the end of the day.

Unfortunately, we have had several instances where our staff have been spoken to or gestured at very disrespectfully or aggressively during our drop off and pick up times. Let’s remember that our children are watching what we are modeling. We teach them at school to Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful. Let’s model that for them in the parking lot and in the community as well.

Bulldog Buck Dance Party

As part of our PBIS, we recognize students for demonstrating positive behaviors each day with Bulldog Bucks. After students receive Bulldog Bucks, they put their names on the back of the Buck and put the Buck into a basket in their classroom. Each week, teachers draw names from the basket. The student whose name was drawn, comes to the office to receive a prize. In our office, we have a Bulldog Buck tower. Each class empties their Bulldog Bucks into the tower. Our tower was full so we had a dance party for each grade level!
