AMAZING THINGS ARE HAPPENING - Advsiory!
Advisory is one of the many things we do here at NP3 that sets us apart from the rest. We have Advisory to build a stronger community between peers, to give the students an opportunity to connect with an adult they can trust and rely on and to provide parents with a main contact who knows what is going on with their child while they are at school.
One important part of Advisory is CPR. Everyone does CPR a little differently, but the one thing in common is providing a space for students and teacher to get to know each other, to feel safe sharing with peers and to have a little fun! Since the beginning of 2nd quarter all of our teachers have been going into other advisories to observe and create a goal for their own advisory. Some of the these goals have pertained to CPR: have students get in a circle in 1 minute or less, students will learn how to listen attentively during sharing and show this by no interruptions during a CPR sharing and as the teacher raising your own hand to ask a student a question in CPR. Everyone on campus has done an outstanding job partaking in this opportunity, reflect on it and make great additions to their Advisory!
One thing to think about as we enter the second half of the year is what are your personal goals about CPR? What do you want your students to gain by getting into their CPR circle twice a week? At the end of the school year what CPR goal do YOU want to accomplish?
