One chapter that made an impression on me was chapter 4. This made an impression on me because Aron described some of his major adventures that sparked his interest in climbing.

The first passage I choose was the one when Aron broke his bones. I choose this because it shows how desperate he was to get out that he would do anything.

The second passage I choose was when Aron was cutting through his arm. I choose this because I found it very disturbing but very interesting.

Surprising Detail

Something that surprised me was that Aron cut off his arm. This surprised me because up to that point, he kept saying how he would never have the courage to cut off his own arm.


"What are you doing, Aron?" (106).
