Accountable Talk
Mrs. Shade, our instructional coach, came in and demonstrated how to talk and listen to each other. Our goal is for students to look at each other when speaking, listening to what is being said and provide feedback.
Accountable Talk
Mrs. Shade had the children do the telephone game where she whispers a sentence in a student's ear, and they pass it around whispering to the next student. The last person says the sentence out loud. We did a great job! The original sentence was "I like peppermint ice cream." We ended up with "I like ice cream."
Social Studies
We finished up our map skill unit with a read the room map symbol search. We also designed our own dream classroom. Mine included a coffee machine and a dog walk...
MS. Quadri
Ms. Quadri is doing her preclinical work in our room 2 morning a week with us. We are happy to have her. Her first mini lesson was on adjectives.
Pumpkins
We have a real pumpkin in our room and the students have been asking everyday what are we going to do with it...
Adjectives
The students brainstormed words to describe the pumpkin that we passed around.
Top Dog -Devid
Devid's favorite animal is a cat (of course!). He loves to eat ice cream. He wants to be a police officer when he grows up. He is pawsome at swimming and soccer.
Doggy Bag
1.FYI: We will be carving a pumpkin in the LRC to use with a writing activity on Tuesday.
2. Math-we are continuing building number bonds and using the commutative property of addition.
3. Look for Lexia skill building practice sheets. Not every unit has them, but I will send them home when appropriate.
