Last Week's Tragedy in Texas
Last week, Superintendent Lennox sent a message to families and staff in response to the tragic shooting at a Texas elementary school. We know that children and teens will process this news in different ways. Please see the additional resources below as we work together to support our students during this difficult time.
We are working closely with Ramsey County Children’s Mental Health Collaboratives to offer the following support:
Collaborative–CARES provides biweekly check in/support to families and school staff. All services are FREE and available now.
Talking Points: Caregiver support on Zoom. Tuesday, June 14, from 6:30-8 p.m. Call or text (800) 565-2575 to register.
Teen Mental Health Club (ages 12-19)
Covid Test
We have an abundance of BD Veritor at home Covid tests. (requires you to download an app). They are due to expire in July and we would hate to see these all go to waste.
Please feel free to stop by the front office and grab some for your family to help you plan and stay safe for all your fun summer activities! If you want to stop by after June 9, please call the office first to be sure someone is here to assist you.

SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!!
Locker Cleanout
Each staff will supervise the hallway near their class.
If you have extra paper or plastic grocery bags, feel free to send with your student for use to bring items home that may not fit in their backpacks.
In the hallway during locker cleanout, there will be large trash cans, library book return carts, and boxes for extra supplies/teacher materials that students can use to donate items they don't want. Students are to leave their lockers open after cleaning.
When/if students complete the locker cleanout, they can go to their regular, before-school morning gym to wait for the bell to ring.
8th Grade Celebration Day
The students will enjoy a talent show in the morning, followed by yearbook distribution, then the field trip. During the field trip, students will enjoy a picnic and a variety of activities including guided hikes, outdoor games and a scavenger hunt.
Please complete and submit this electronic permission slip, if you haven't already done so, allowing your student to attend the field trip.
Students should wear clothing and shoes that can get wet, and should bring sunscreen and a refillable water bottle. Lunch will be provided.
If you'd like to chaperone, please Sign-up here as parent volunteers (as many as we can get) are critical to the success of this event. While we will have teachers on hand to supervise and re-direct kids, there are many parts of the park that, for safety reasons, are off-limits to students unless they are on a guided tour. Parent chaperones will be stationed in key areas of the park, creating a clear perimeter for students.
Below is a tentative schedule of the celebration day:
Schedule
7:45 - Take attendance in 1st period classes, set expectations for day
8:15 - Talent show and Yearbook distribution in the performance gym
9:30 - Load buses to leave for the park
10:00 - Arrive at park
10:05 - Park Boundaries and Expectations relayed to students on the bus
10:10 - Free time
12:00 - Lunch
12:30-1:30 - Free time
1:30 - Board the buses
2:00 - Return to Edgewood
2:25 - Depart for home
Please contact your student’s dean if you have any questions or concerns.

EPAT Information
Edgewood Parents & Teachers (EPAT) is an organization in which parents, as well as Edgewood (EW) teachers and administration work together to help meet the needs of the EW students and staff. We understand that not all families may be in a position to give right now, but if you have the means, please consider a direct donation to EPAT.
