News for the Week of February 16th
2nd Grade CogAT Testing
On February 18th, 19th, and 20th, 2nd graders will be taking the CogAT test. All schools in DCSD are now giving this assessment to 2nd graders in February. The results of the CogAT, along with a body of evidence, will be used to determine if students qualify for Gifted & Talented services including Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs). Parents of students in any grade level can still request that their child be given the CogAT test in the fall, but the February assessment is only for 2nd grade. If you have any questions about the CogAT assessment, please contact email@example.com.
6th Grade Passion Project
Hello Coyote Creek families, we are three 6th grade students, Jenna, Mia, and Noriana. We are doing passion projects in our enrichment class. The passion project we chose was to send care packages to the U.S troops in Iran. We would like to start a donation drive and are asking you to help us by donating supplies from the list provided. Boxes will be set up in front of the office at school. Kids can also come in with their donations. We’d like to start the drive on Monday, February 17th, and all donations will be due on Monday, February 24th. Feel free to donate at any time during the day. Thank you for your consideration and help! `
The list is below!
Snacks: chips, nuts, cookies, beef jerky, non-melting candy, trail mix in packaging that isn’t easily crushed, mints, gum
