Updates
SBA
Kudos to 3rd-5th grade teachers, Christi, Veronica, and Justina for completing the official window of SBA testing! You did it!
A huge shout out to the entire teaching staff for preparing and executing fabulous dia del niño performances last Friday! Many parents came up to me and commented on what a lovely celebration it was for the Flowery community. Thanks to all staff and grade levels who ran a game or sold food. Special thanks to Lucia for being in charge of logistics and the set up! I also appreciate Matt for leading the performances with his fabulous MC talent! I am extremely grateful for our staff's leadership ability and knowing that I can be away and all will be just fine if not BETTER! Flowery rocks!
Congratulations to Heidy Garibay! Heidy is the recipient of the F. George Elliott Exemplary Student Teacher Scholarship Award for 2016. The review committee was exceedingly impressed with her dedication, passion, and accomplishments. The F. George Elliott Scholarship is one of the most prestigious honors in the School of Education at Sonoma State University. Awesome work Heidy!
Staff Meetings
There seems to be some calendar confusion with the dates of staff meetings in May. The paper calendar reads staff meeting for tomorrow, 5/2 and google staff calendar reads 5/9. Guess what...you can delete both dates! In honor of national teacher appreciation week I am gifting you the gift of time tomorrow, 5/2 and 5/9. We have one final leadership meeting on Monday, 5/16 and one final staff meeting on 5/23. Enjoy the next two Mondays getting caught up, preparing for Open House or just going home early and doing something to take care of yourself!
Parent Survey & May RAP
We are conducting a parent survey in the month of May. Hard copies of the survey along with the May RAP are ready to go in your box. Please distribute both of these items on Monday, 5/2. Parents will complete one survey per family NOT per child. Parents may go online to complete the survey or complete the hard copy and return it to you or to the office. I am shooting for a 75% response rate!

School climate student survey
Students in grades 3-5 will complete a social-emotional school climate survey the week of 5/16. I will be sending out the link via email. Please plan on having students take the survey during their computer lab time the week of 5/16 or schedule a time to take it in your classroom. Thank you for your assistance!
Bright Bytes Survey This anonymous technology survey is for students in grades 3-5 as well as teachers. It surveys the use of technology and is being used by the tech committee to plan next steps with training, purchase of devices etc. Please be sure you and your students complete this survey before May 15th.
