CCPL Summer Reading Program
Stop the Summer Slide
You have a fun way to keep your child’s reading skills sharp this summer with downloadable "Beach Bags" for K-3 and the virtual Camp INFOhio for grades 4-6. Beach Bags feature stories and activities that let children practice reading skills while learning about careers and their environment. Camp INFOhio contains five days of reading, activities, and experiments centered on STEAM topics. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math. Kids can try their hand at code breaking, conduct science experiments with items they find in the kitchen, learn about roller coasters before designing their own, and create their own musical instruments. The Beach Bags and Camp INFOhio are offered free to all Ohio families and schools by INFOhio and the Ohio Department of Education. Find them all by going towww.infohio.org and clicking Stop the Summer Slide! in the What’s New box.
Here a Box, There a Box, Everywhere a Box Box
There is a common theme is my work day lately - BOXES!! Drake is in "Everything Must Go!" mode, while Whitney has the majority of its teachers either leaving or moving into a new room. The resulting maze of boxes creates a backdrop that can make me melancholy. If I feel that way, It makes me concerned about students, teachers, and staff who have been in the same school for years - some for decades. Parents and students did a wonderful job making all of us feel valued during Teacher Appreciation Weeks. Now I ask for your understanding. Know that these final days of the school year will be very difficult for many of us. But we will meet these challenges and be ready to start anew in August!
As you can see, teachers have different approaches to moving!

New Regulations Result in Changes When Writing Checks At School
Due to changes in federal banking regulations all check payments must be made payable to Strongsville City Schools which reflects the name on the District bank account. The bank will no longer be able to accept checks made out to individual school buildings, i.e. Muraski Elementary School, or Strongsville High School, etc.
This includes ALL checks received whether it is for food service, field trips, prom, pay-to-play, trainer fee, transcripts, school fees/fines, fund-raisers, etc. We encourage families to use the PayForIt (PFI) system when applicable. Click HERE for more information on Strongsville's PFI system.
