Happy New Year from Nurse Bonnie!
Illness Prevention:
*Practice Frequent hand washing with soap and water.
*Students should get at least 8-10 hours of sleep.
*Dress for cold weather: long pants, jackets, gloves, hats and snow or rain boots.
* Get a flu shot....it's not too late!
Illness Management:
*Reinforce the "elbow cough" sometimes called the "vampire cough" or "dab" (It's when you cough into your elbow and not your hand. This method is very helpful in preventing germ spread.)
*Students need to stay home if they have a fever of 100.4 F, vomiting, diarrhea, or nasal drainage.
For detailed school illness criteria, please go to RSD website and click on the "Student Services" tab under "Departments". Then click "Student Health" and finally click "Disease Exclusions".
Never hesitate to reach out to Nurse Bonnie with health related questions and have a healthy and safe new year!

Winter Weather
As a reminder when dropping off your student:
- Please pull your car forward to the furthest spot in the drop off lane (lane 1). Please do not stop at the beginning of the drop off lane or mid-way through the drop off lane. Please follow these guidelines rather than dropping your student off in front of their arrival/dismissal door.
- Please do not drop off students in lanes 2 or 3. You may park in these rows. Your child may walk by themself, and/or you may accompany them using the designated crossing areas. Parents and students should use sidewalks at all times and only cross where there is staff supervision.
If there is a 2 hour delay due to inclement weather conditions, and you feel it's unsafe to travel, we respect your decision to keep your student home. If you do decide to stay home, please contact the Sage Office at sage-info@redmondschools.org or by phone.
We want all our students and families to be safe and healthy!
