Media Monthly
for middle school families
Hi there!
Newbery Authors
This is the classic book display, right? 2012 gave us Dead End in Norvelt, and our library certainly houses many more award winning books!
Native American Heritage Month
Novemeber is a great month to talk about Native American's and our country's history. I've put together a simple display with books and movies that encourage understanding about our country's relationship with Native Americans.
QRs - again!
If you scan this QR code, it will take you to our Media Center Blog and on that blog you'll find a link to a site that let's you create your own Navajo Pattern. If your student is creative and artsy, encourage him or her to try it out. We'll put the created patterns on our bulletin board if they would like. We love to display good art!
I thought this was an interesting infographic.
Talk with your kids about which books YOU'VE read or which ones you think they might like. Why have these particular books been SO popular?
I'm really into Infographics right now.
This one emphasizes the importance of staying active, not just for health reasons, but because it helps you LEARN better. If clicking on it doesn't make it big enough to read, try www.MakingHealthEasier.org/Burn2Learn
Okay, so this one isn't about reading...
...but I use this with my own kids and find it invaluable. It's not perfect, but it helps me cope with the constant competition between my daughters. Maybe it will help you, too?
We're bloggin' along!
